THE POWER OF SAMPLING
I try to avoid spending big bucks on skincare...as a professional developer, I know what goes in, and I know the margins/mark-up. A few outliers do exist - a handful of Osmotics, md skincare, Cosmedicine and Bioelement sku's do come to mind (although they really do not bear what would be considered a 'luxury price point' when compared to the la Mer's or ReVive's of the beauty world).
However -- thanks to a deluxe sample of Ole Henriksen Truth SerumĀ® Collagen Booster I received a few days ago, I just want to mention the extreme power of sampling.
Many beauty companies dismiss this age-old marketing practice as a waste of money or a likely negative ROI. I argue the converse.
Never in a million would I have tried this product, although an admirer of the brand and the legend himself (we met for about a half second last year at HSN and he was quite charming!).
Yet, now...having used 'truth serum' for approx one week, I am beyond hooked. My skin, which has had its up's and down's lately (due to stress, travel, etc.), my complexion has been acting crazy. And, while I tend to be oily, dryness has shown up out of nowhere. This product is the one thing that has managed to combat the dehydration while keeping oiliness away. And, added a more supple look and a significantly brighter glow.
Kudos to Ole and team. I am a new convert and this will now remain a staple - an official transfer from the Casi 'testing table' to a coveted place on the vanity. A new add to my skincare regimen...which is a rarity (those who know me know this to be true).
So, a gentle reminder to those who disbelieve: old school still works. There is a great deal of power in the practical. It is called the practice of actual use.
